As a leader in arts education, Lisa stays informed about best practices, grant opportunities, potential arts partners, and legislation that affects arts education.  

 

She has collaborated with educators at the Los Angeles County Office of Education, the Arts Ed Collective, the LA County Arts Commission, Arts for LA, local artists and arts organizations, and teachers in classrooms across LA County to increase equitable access to arts education for all students.

 

​In the role of a Visual and Performing Arts Teacher on Special Assignment (VAPA TOSA), Lisa:

• co-authored grant applications

• created and managed budgets

• ordered supplies and materials

• managed grant deliverables

• designed discrete and integrated arts curricula

• planned and facilitated professional development for teachers and administrators

• modeled classroom lessons

• coached teachers

• guided site administrators as they created their VAPA Plans

• coordinated special projects and events at sites and for the district

 

Lisa's finely tuned organization and communication skills empower her to coordinate special projects and events for sites and the school district. 

 

As an educator, and advocate for the arts Lisa is committed to providing equitable access to high-quality, learner-centered instruction that ensures student success.  She incorporates a variety of teaching strategies that accommodate ALL learners. Lisa models the habits of a professional who inspires and empowers students to achieve artistically and academically. She focuses on facilitating the learning process and guiding students toward their goals.
